The 3GSM World Congress in Cannes the major GSM industry event. Many new cellular wireless handsets are announced or pre-launched (prior to CeBIT) at this event.

Cellular handset manufacturers with major displays included Amoi, Aux, BenQ, Blackberry (RiM), Dbtel, Gotive, Group Sense, Haier, Hop-on-Wireless, Huawei, I-mate, LG, Motorola, NEC, Newgen, Nokia, PalmOne, Panasonic, Philips, Sagem, Samsung, Sanyo, Sendo, Sharp, Siemens, Sierra Wireless, Sony, Telit, Toshiba and ZTE. Several network operator brands were also present including O2, SFR, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

The 3GSM Congress was held in February 05 in Cannes. Next year's event goes to Barcelona.
