Although relatively compact in size ExpoComm Wireless Japan had major exhibits from two cellular operators NTT DoCoMo and KDDI, as well as major displays from cellular wireless handset manufacturers such as Kyocera (13), NEC (11), Panasonic (13), Toshiba (6) and UT Starcom (17). Handset component manufacturers also present included CSR, Freescale, Infineon, Intel, Renesas, Samsung, Texas Instruments and TTPCom.
Additional cellular wireless research was made in the Akihabara "Electronics City" where all four operators (NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, Vodafone and Tu-Ka) have outlets and where there are numerous dealers selling the current range of cellular handsets.
